Dutton-Goldfield Winery

Steve Dutton farms. Dan Goldfield makes wine. They have been at it together since 1998, and the partnership is the whole point.

Dutton is fifth generation on this land, working ranches across the Russian River Valley and Green Valley that his family has farmed for decades. Goldfield came out of a chemistry background and spent years chasing cool-climate Pinot before the two of them decided the grower and the winemaker should be in the same room from the start.

The tasting room is in Sebastopol, a bit of a drive but a pretty one. What you taste is Pinot Noir and Chardonnay off some of the most sought-after fruit in the county, made by people who know exactly which block it came from.
