Wherever you choose, we know the people and they know us. They will take their time with you, pour you something they are proud of, and let the afternoon go where it goes. The man behind Kosta Browne, now pouring Pinot and Chardonnay at Bacchus Landing. Comfortable room, serious wine.

Dutton-Goldfield Winery

A grower and a winemaker in partnership since 1998. Russian River Pinot and Chardonnay off some of the best fruit in Sonoma.

En Garde Winery

Csaba Szakal is a fourth-generation Hungarian winemaker working in Kenwood. He is usually pouring, and he will talk.

Hawley Winery

Four decades of family winemaking, poured in a downtown room hung with Dana Hawley's paintings. Walk over after breakfast.

MacRostie Winery

Steve MacRostie was making Sonoma Coast Chardonnay before the appellation had a reputation. The Estate House terrace is the draw.

Ridge Vineyards

Single-vineyard wines since 1962, from vines planted over a century ago. The tasting room is built of straw bales and vineyard clay.

Siduri

Adam Lee's cool-climate Pinot, poured downtown with a record collection going. Easy to walk to, hard to leave.

Skipstone

A hilltop estate in Alexander Valley you would not find on your own. Bordeaux varietals, reservations only.

Stressed Vines

A small downtown room pouring small-production wine. The name is the argument: stressed vines make concentrated fruit.

Williamson Wines

Every wine arrives with something to eat beside it. The pairings are the point, right on the Plaza.
